Actions for specific audiences
Penitentiaries
In partnership with the Office of Social Policies and Insertion of the Division of Penitentiary Administration, the Bpi offers all of the libraries of French penitentiaries, with the support of nearby territorial libraries, by agreement, documents that have been weeded out of its collections. Since 2013, over 8 000 documents were reallocated to 40 penitentiaries.
L’Ecole Sous l’Arbre Humanitaire
The Public Information Library supports the association “L’Ecole Sous l’Arbre humanitaire”, founded in April 2004, on projects to create libraries and reading rooms in five countries of West Africa (Cameroon, Niger, Burkina Faso, Benin and Central African Republic). Since June 2013, the Bpi has reallocated over 1600 documents to this association.
Social associations
Since the beginning of 2014, the Public Information Library allows social associations to receive donations of documents that have been weeded out of its collections. To date, ten of these associations have concluded agreements with the Library.
